Human Resources Assistant (Part-Time)

Looking to launch or grow your career in Human Resources? Kendall County is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Part -Time Human Resources Assistant to join our team! This part-time role offers hands-on experience across all areas of HR while working directly with the Human Resources Director in a supportive, fast-paced environment.
What You’ll Do
- Provide administrative and clerical support for daily operations in the Human Resources Department.
- Answer phones, manage mail, schedule appointments, and file and maintain records.
- Assist with risk management and insurance-related documentation.
- Support Human Resources & Insurance Committee meetings (agendas, minutes, and compliance with the Illinois Open Meetings Act).
- Handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion; and
- Learn and grow in your human resources career through a variety of HR-focused projects!

What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- At least two (2) years of administrative or Human Resources experience is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask is essential for this position.
- Friendly, approachable, and professional demeanor with strong customer service skills.
- A self-starter who takes initiative, works independently, and follows through on assignments.
Schedule & Location
- Part-time: 25 hours per week
- Preferred schedule: Monday–Friday, 5 hours per day sometime during regular office hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- On-site work is required.
Pay & Benefits
- $20.00 per hour
- Paid holidays, vacation, and personal/sick time
- Participation in the IMRF Pension Plan
