Effective Wednesday, October 15, 2025, the Kendall County Coroner's Office has paused the operation of the outdoor 24-hour sharps drop box indefinitely, due to a large number of loose needles being deposited into the kiosk without safe containers.

The Coroner's Office will continue to accept medical sharps for disposal in the office during regular business hours: Monday-Friday, 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. We will also continue to offer free sharps containers to any Kendall County resident to help make safe disposal easy and convinient.
