FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Kendall Area Transit’s Adopt-A-Rider Fundraiser
Yorkville, IL – Kendall Area Transit (KAT), Kendall County’s public bus transportation system, is proud to announce its first-ever Adopt-A-Rider Fundraiser, running from November 17 to December 31, 2025.
KAT is a dial-a-ride service that provides Kendall County residents with reliable, flexible, and affordable transportation that supports the diverse mobility needs of the community, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those without access to a private vehicle. Fares range from $2–$5 per ride for adults and children over five years old. With 26 ADA-compliant vehicles, the program provides residents with over 35,000 rides per year.
Funds raised through the Adopt-A-Rider program will help cover ride costs for residents who are unable to afford transportation, ensuring access to essential services such as medical appointments, grocery stores, employment, and community activities. Donations directly support KAT’s mission of helping riders maintain independence and avoid choosing between critical transportation and other basic needs.
KAT is operated by the Voluntary Action Center, and made possible with grant support from the Federal Transit Administration, Regional Transportation Authority, Illinois Department of Transportation, and municipal contributions from Kendall County’s cities and townships.
Donation forms are available online at www.bit.ly/AdoptARider. Contributions may be made via Venmo, by mail, or in person at the Kendall County Courthouse (807 John Street, Yorkville, IL).
Questions about the Adopt-A-Rider program may be directed to Jennifer Breault at jebreault@kendallcountyil.gov.
