FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Kendall County’s Economic Development and Administration Committee (Dan Koukol, Committee Chairman) is proud to award the 2026 Made in Kendall designation to the following local businesses:
Consumer Product: Leafy Greens & Crunch Kit Salads, BrightFarms (Yorkville)
As a leader in indoor farming, BrightFarms is built on the belief that fresh produce should be better for people and better for the planet. Greens are grown responsibly without the use of pesticides and with less land and water on a per-yield basis than traditional field-grown agriculture. By growing closer to where people live, BrightFarms greens reach store shelves in as little as 24 hours, giving communities access to reliably fresh produce while reducing transportation time, so greens stay fresh for longer.
Industrial Product: Expressions Canvases, Aurora Specialty Textiles (Yorkville)
Aurora Specialty Textiles is a global leader in the coating and finishing of woven, nonwoven, and knit fabrics, backed by more than 140 years of innovation. They serve a diverse range of markets, including wide-format digitally printable textiles, pressure-sensitive tapes, power transmission belts, military applications, and other industrial fabric solutions. Aurora Specialty Textiles’ popular Expressions Canvases deliver high quality canvases for wide format digital printing, delivering outstanding image quality and eye-catching graphics for residential, commercial, and event settings.
In 2015, the company invested in a state-of-the-art, wide-width coating and finishing line and relocated to a new facility in Yorkville, Illinois—significantly expanding its capacity to serve customers.
Community Maker: Corruption Wine, Fox Valley Winery (Oswego)
Fox Valley Winery has been a tourism staple in Kendall County for generations. Members of the Oswego Area Chamber of Commerce and the Oswego Downtown Association, the winery regularly participates in local events and are active members of the community. Recognized as an Illinois Made Business by the Illinois Department of Tourism, Fox Valley Winery proudly produces Corruption—its most popular red wine—crafted entirely in Illinois and made right here in Kendall County.
The Made in Kendall recognition program promotes local manufacturing while celebrating the manufacturers and makers who drive Kendall County’s economy. The program showcases locally made products that exemplify exceptional quality, reinforcing the county’s strong commitment to supporting manufacturing, and fostering continued industry growth.
The awardees were formally honored at the February 17, 2026 Kendall County Board meeting.
The Made in Kendall program is made possible by sponsors Nicor Gas and Waubonsee Community College.
