Yorkville, IL – As communities across the nation commemorate the 250th birthday of the United States of America, Kendall County is proud to celebrate the historic milestone through Kendall250, a countywide initiative that honors our nation’s past while highlighting the people, places, and stories that have shaped our local community.

Working in partnership with local municipalities, historical organizations, and other community groups, Kendall County has coordinated efforts to highlight the region’s rich history, encourage civic engagement, and inspire residents to learn more about the role Kendall County has played in the American story.

Residents are encouraged to visit Kendall250.com to learn more about the initiative and explore the Kendall250 Calendar, which features various Semiquincentennial events happening throughout the county.

One of the signature Kendall250 programs is the Kendall County Historic Scavenger Hunt, running from June 29 through August 9. Using the Goosechase app, participants will embark on a self-guided journey across Kendall County, visiting local museums, historic landmarks, and monuments that showcase the county's rich heritage. Each mission introduces participants to a new location and challenge, providing a fun and engaging way to discover the people, places, and events that helped shape Kendall County.
