In 2026, the United States will commemorate the 250th anniversary of the signage of the Declaration of Independence—a historic milestone known as the Semiquincentennial. Kendall County is proud to join communities across the nation in honoring this moment through education, reflection, and celebration.

Working in partnership with local municipalities, historical organizations, schools, and community groups, Kendall County is coordinating efforts to highlight our region’s unique history, civic heritage, and role in the American story.

This webpage serves as a central hub for all Kendall County–related semiquincentennial information, events, and resources.

 

About the Semiquincentennial

The Semiquincentennial mark 250 years since the signage of the Declaration of Independence in 1776. This anniversary provides an opportunity not only to celebrate the nation's founding, but also to reflect on our shared values, acknowledge the full scope of American history, and look ahead to the future.
