The Kendall Economic Development Alliance (KEDA) Career Summer Internship Program connects high school students with employers across Kendall County, offering meaningful paid work experience alongside career and skill development. Participating organizations benefit from motivated interns who can become part of their future talent pipeline. This is a true internship program: students gain practical skills, professional insight, and hands-on learning in addition to on-the-job experience.

Program Highlights

  • Employers provide relevant training, skill-building opportunities, and paid employment.

  • Participants can connect with a career mentor to explore professional pathways in their field.

  • Students may be eligible to receive high school credit for their internship.

  • A wide range of organizations and industries participate in the program.

  • Employers create their own internship job descriptions, select candidates, and maintain all standard employer rights, including the ability to dismiss interns if necessary.

  • All participating employers must comply with wage and hour laws and agree to offer an internship lasting at least five weeks between May and September.
