The bunkhouses at Hoover Forest Preserve feature a full kitchen with a refrigerator/freezer, stove with oven, sink, and abundant storage space. There is no microwave or coffee pot, but you are welcome to bring your own. Plan to bring utensils, plates, cups, cookware, serving ware, paper products, soap, sponges, dishtowels, etc., as the kitchen does not come with any of these items.

Electrical outlets are provided throughout the bunkhouses. Please be aware that overuse of outlets may trip a breaker.

Each bunkhouse can sleep up to 32 people and feature double bunkbeds with vinyl mattresses. Plan to bring bedding such as a sleeping bag or twin sheet set, and pillows.

Bunkhouses are heated, but not air-conditioned. There are ceiling fans throughout the Bunkhouses and they generally stay cool in the warmer weather months.

All bunkhouses feature a gathering area with working fireplace. Tables and chairs are provided and are stored in the enclosed porch area.

An outdoor fire pit and picnic area is adjacent to the Kingfisher Bunkhouse, while Blazing Star and Moonseed Bunkhouses feature an adjacent picnic shelter with picnic tables and fireplace.

Blazing Star and Moonseed Bunkhouses also feature 4 Primitive Cabins, which sleep an additional 16 people (4 people in each cabin).

All Bunkhouses have full bathroom and shower facilities with toilet paper, soap, and paper towels. Plan to bring personal hygiene items.
