Charitable Donations:

Kendall Area Transit (KAT) has officially begun accepting donations to support the ongoing operation and future growth of public transportation services in Kendall County.

KAT is a grant-funded program that requires a 35% local match, which must be raised annually within our community. The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) allocates grant funds to Kendall County each year; however, these funds can only be accessed when we secure the necessary local matching dollars.

Our objective is to gather sufficient annual contributions to sustain our current services and to expand access to transportation into the evenings and weekends. Providing reliable public transit enhances economic development, health, well-being, and overall quality of life in rural areas.

Over the past year, Kendall Area Transit has provided more than 30,000 rides. Of these, 52% were for seniors, 22% for individuals with disabilities, and 26% for the general public. The primary purposes of trips include medical appointments, accounting for 47%, and employment-related travel, comprising 37%.

If you are interested in making a charitable contribution to support KAT, please see the flyer below for additional details.
